The Holt Area Partnership, North Norfolk
The Holt Area Partnership’s focus is to improve the quality of life for people in Holt and the surrounding area, as shown on our map – the twenty rural parishes contain over twenty five villages in North Norfolk, and our Parishes page gives local information.
Welcome message from Robin Combe (Chair of Holt Area Partnership)

“I am delighted to be able to welcome the revamped website for the Holt Area Partnership.
Getting the message across about our projects and plans to all our stakeholders (and indeed everyone else) is vital if the Partnership is to achieve its objectives.
Please explore the site and, feedback to us at contacts any suggestions as to how we should improve the services and information that we offer.
The Holt Area Partnership Board are very grateful for the effort put in by our staff – Lara and Debbie – and Josh.biz to get this new site up and running, now it’s up to you to use and improve it!”
How the Holt Area Partnership makes a difference
The main way that the Holt Area Partnership is able to help the local population is through supporting the delivery of a wide range of projects and encouraging partnerships. The projects are set up to respond to needs and they aim to provide tangible benefits to the area.
Projects may be social, economic or environmental – or all three! And they also have to be as cost-effective and sustainable as possible.

Since being established in the Autumn of 2006, the Holt Area Partnership has been able to help secure over £200,000 of funding for various projects in the area it serves. This is money that has enabled and supported local groups to make a genuine difference to improving life for a wide range of people in the communities within the area.
We also support local voluntary and community organisations that meet our priorities – for the full list of our ten priorities and other information please see ‘FAQ‘ and ‘About Us’.
A few examples of current projects include
- Community chest: 10 small grants have been given to local voluntary and community groups in Spring 2010 to help a range of events, help with equipment costs and venue refurbishments – see Projects for more details.
- Information: We display regular updates from Victory Housing and other organisations in the office we share with the Holt Tourist Information Centre.
- We have worked with the CAB to set up the Holt Area Community Bank – a local branch of the Credit Union.
- Supporting local events development and promote tourism such as the Holt Festival and a new Booklet about Holt called ‘First Impressions’ that the Holt Society are planning.
- Working with Holt Hall, Holt Community Centre and Holt Youth Project and many others to seek funds.
Holt Area Partnership consults with the community to identify needs through Health Check questionnaires. The feedback from health check questionnaire analysed 2008 highlighted these concerns:
- Health Care – availability of doctors and dentists, care for elderly.
- Protecting green spaces/nature.
- Improving housing.

Updated Health Check
Holt Area Partnership hopes that a new Health Check might be able to link in with the Holt Visioning consultation process (see Projects).
But we have also proceeded with consultation around specific issues such as learning needs with Norfolk Adult Education, and older people’s concerns with North Norfolk Older People’s Forum, which we are planning for 14 September 2010 and are keen to hear of other consultation such as Village Plans that might be gathering feedback that we can help act on.
